Do you want to support your clients with the benefit of relaxation and imagery?
Would you like to share a tool with your clients that may help them get results more quickly?
James Gordon, M.D., the author of Unstuck: Your Guide to the Seven Stage Journey out of Depression, and the director of The Center for Mind-Body Medicine, and a clinical professor at Georgetown University School of Medicine says the key factor in successfully healing depression without antidepressants is always the same: The client takes an active role in the healing process.
He recommends a combination of complementary approaches like acupuncture, meditation and relaxation practices, sound nutrition, creative imagery, movement, and physical exercise have been proven to be effective. The combination is different for each person.
When a client comes to you with symptoms of anxiety, depression, lack of clarity, difficulty sleeping and hopelessness, it is helpful for them to have a tool that reinforces a daily healing practice. As they practice guided imagery between sessions they will be more receptive to the work they do with you. We know that a daily healing practice will support their progress.
Just as we recommend resources like books and articles to our clients, this site can be another option when
our clients need tools for "self soothing"..
